In partnership with the ette hotel Orlando, Howey Music Series will present an Oct. 8 jazz concert featuring Bryan Eng's Circle Room Trio as part of a special Sunday afternoon tea. Eng plays the piano and sings in a style reminiscent of a 1960s Frank Sinatra crooner. He will be joined onstage by Ilya Osachuk on bass and Aaron Matson on guitar, both Julliard master’s graduates, stellar soloists and bandleaders in their own right.
Other exciting news: ette is offering discounts to patrons of the tea and Bryan Eng concert if they also want to book hotel rooms and spa services. The concert is $30, plus $65 for the afternoon tea, featuring Mariage Frères teas, pastries and finger foods from Salt & the Cellar restaurant by Michelin star chef Akira Back. (Gratuity and state and local sales taxes not included.)
Eng’s talents as a jazz pianist, singer, composer and arranger have led to performances at the Kennedy Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Birdland Jazz Club, in addition to the nation’s finest jazz venues. “Eng’s star wattage is undeniable,” notes the Chicago Sun-Times.
That fits the hotel’s elegant, yet down-to-earth image well. Imagine an Alpine chalet and spa, where the guests’ comfort is of paramount importance — that’s ette, which stands for earthy, true, timeless and elegant.
